About us

Just 20 minutes from Astoria and 5 minutes from Long Beach, Ilwaco is a sleepy, historic, little fishing town nestled on the south end of the Long Beach Peninsula in the southwest corner of the state, between the Pacific Ocean and the Columbia River. Click here to read the rich history of the city and surrounding area courtesy of the Association of Washington Cities (AWC).

Today, the City of Ilwaco is undergoing a revitalization and boasts a vibrant art and fishing community at the Port of Ilwaco Marina. With an Art Walk on Fridays in June, July, & August from 4-7pm, Saturday Market from 10-4 on Saturdays between May and September, chartered fishing trips, and the hiking/biking Discovery Trail which leads out to the North Head Lighthouse, Ilwaco offers something for everyone.

There are many family-friendly and community-oriented activities in the area such as the Black Lake Fishing Derby for kids in April, the Loyalty Days parades in May, and the Slow Drag in September. Check out the Long Beach Visitors Bureau site for a complete listing.
