Council Rules Of Procedure 2020
The City of Ilwaco has an immediate need and is accepting Declaration of Interest Applications for Council Position No. 5, a vacancy created by the resignation of Councilmember Kristen Mathison. The appointee will serve until the term is filled by election in November 2023. Applicants must be a registered voter in Pacific County at the time of application and have resided within the Ilwaco city limits for at least one year.
The City Council meets regularly on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:00 p.m., in the Ilwaco Community Building. Occasional Council workshops and committee meetings may be scheduled during business and/or evening hours.
Applications will be accepted in person at 120 First Ave N or via mail to PO Box 548, Ilwaco, WA 98624, until June 6, 2022. The Ilwaco City Council will hold applicant interviews during the Regular Council Meeting scheduled for June 13, 2022.

Councilmember Lessnau has made his home in Ilwaco for the last 7 years. He graduated from Ilwaco High School in 2006, and is a 2010 University of Washington alumni with a BA in Aeronautics & Astronautics. Councilmember Lessnau's primary goal as an elected official is to "revitalize our community by cultivating opportunities for Ilwaco businesses, infrastructure development, and creating region-leading recreational opportunities for our citizens and guests." Matt works for Adrift Distillers in Long Beach, Washington. He enjoys creating memories with his wife Kacia, and their two children Maeva (4) and Archer (2), entertaining guests, cooking, barbecuing, sampling the Pacific Northwest's finest beer, wine, and spirits, mushroom foraging, and playing Xbox.
