Dear Customers,
As some of you have been aware, we have replaced the majority of water meters in our system. If in January, you were not charged consumption, this month your February bill will reflect two months of consumption. This will not occur again as all meters have been exchanged in the system now.
With the new system your meters will be read electronically via cell towers. This will give us accurate readings, all the time. It will also notify us of large water leaks, as they happen, not when we do the billing. If you have any questions, please give us a call.
Reminder: City Water Meters should not be tampered with. It is highly recommended that you install a water shut off value on your house for your shut-off purposes. This will also help you isolate a leak, if your leak is in your house or in the line that goes from the meter to the house.
You also may notice that some of the meters have an antenna on top of the meter box, this is for the electronic meter reading. The house owner is responsible for the protection from damage to this antenna. We recommend, if you have landscapers to put a cone on the meter to avoid damage.
Thank you for your patience through the last couple of months. We hope that the new meters will be a great benefit to you and the city!
